Andrew Murray Statue Defaced

In the words of the character Calvin Candie in the movie Django ... "Why don't they kill us?"

They really don't want us here. This is the only way they will ever be rid of us.

Why don't they step up and do what they really want to do ... because all their other shenanigans are only leading to dissent and disrespect and nothing productive.

With this kind of logic how are you allowed to be a teacher?

It's a sarcastic, fatalistic comment born from pure frustration. Also not a comment I would if I had my own name linked to it but solely because this is an anonymous forum where can make comments like these. Yes, our accounts have become personas, but a persona is nowhere near a someone's rational character in real life.

Uhm it's not apt at all actually. Zuma has strongly condemned the vandalism.

Not really. His condemnation at the very least has been a "must" as the president. He has discharged his duty but if he wanted to really stand against it he would be more involved and speaking to the people. Suspend from the party (where he can) or arrest.

I am not particularly minded on the statue issue. You can't change the past but you can show how good triumphs over evil...but right now there is a "destroy any statue pre-94" mindset.

Where it is a tyrant like CJR, put a bigger statue next to it for someone who had better values and it then let's a story about the past be told.

That's his "Presidential" view. I can image him silently laughing every time another monument is defaced. Given his position he can hardly come out in support of that vandalism.

It's all about trust.

He hasn't given people, all people, any reason to trust him one bit.

Unfortunately when you idiots like Malema on one side and Steve Hofmeyr and Sunette Bridges on the other side, it's pretty much out of our hands. You and I may be able to resist. But some other idiots won't.

Malema and his EFF crooks are not the same as Hofmeyer and Bridges. Atleast the latter two say alot of good things along with some very stupid stuff (which the pc crowd instantly jump on like bees flock on honey), but atleast they are not violent and vandalise property. Unfortunally they do attract some very conservative religious nutjobs with some scary ideas, taking away the credibility.

Did he, false posturing as most if not all the speeches by ANC members tell me your comment is garbage!
Lol ANC members have actually been cleaning and protecting the vandalized statues.

He does not pussyfoot around the bush like most. I for one respect his views. Maybe he just sees and identifies with reality better than you! Ok!

Indeed.

They have no choice as its in their jurisdiction. I know you do not always expect them to do their job. Even I am surprised that managed to be able to do that. In the mean time the SAPS fail to protect anything and anyone. ;)

Just another whitey statue. The statues cannot fight back.
