Andries Nel is the Deputy Minister at Department of Justice & Constitutional Development, as well as a Member of the South African Parliment.

He has previously held the following positions:

• House Chairperson (Assistant Speaker): Committees & ICT at Parliament of RSA
• Deputy Chief Whip of the Majority Party (ANC) at Parliament of RSA
• Whip (ANC) on Portfolio Committee on Justice & Constitutional Development at Parliament of RSA
• Co-ordinator: Capital Punishment & Penal Reform at Lawyers for Human Rights
