Android 10 contact search problem

After googling with no answers, I came to ask you. When you search for any contact to make a call, you could use any letters, now with Android 10 you must search with the start name. eg if you use to search for Jan van Riebeeck, you could search any name phrase, now you must start with Jan. I want the old search back.

Also perfect on Android 10 on OnePlus. Search term "AB" / 22

Also Nokia , but the same problem on the pixel and some other Google type phones.
There are 2 tips on google, but it does not work, as per other users, Seems like we will have to wait for some kind of "patch" fix. On watchapp it seems to still work fine.

I have the same issue on the same phone. It's very annoying. There is a chance they might fix it in the next update.

Must be device or brand specific, because I don't have that issue on my Huawei P30 pro. Start typing in a surname, and it will give me all matches regardless of it being a first or surname.
