Android 4.3 for Samsung galaxy S4

after upgrading to 4.3 over the weekend my phone wont recognise my SIM. Every now and again it will recognise it, ask for a pin, receive and allow phone calls for about half an hour and then its as if the SIM card gets removed. SIM works fine in other phones. Do you guys reckon its software or hardware?

Explain how you installed the new firmware.

shall i download 4.2.2 or 4.3 (currently have 4.3 installed)?
 
4.3 running fine here (MTN). Not much difference, battery life is standard. I do get more security/shield notices regarding activity of apps trying to access info etc.
 
Just rooted my S4 on Android 4.3. Man alive there is a lot of rubbish installed which i removed with titanium backup
 
Hey guys

Has anyone been able to upgrade to 4.3 from custom 4.2.2 without tripping the Knox flag? If so, how did you do it, a bit worried to trip the flag.
 
Does anybody know if the fix for 4.3 is available for download yet?

I read online that it's available in the States already but not sure about internationally.

4.3 screwed up my wifi so I went back to 4.2.2.

Huh? What fix? There's nothing wrong with the wifi or am I the only one?

Not everyone had the wifi issue but it was one of the reasons why some of the providers in the States didn't release 4.3 initially.
 
ok feeling a bit daft here, but it seems I have already tripped the flag.

I have a rooted 9500 on 4.2.2 with touch wiz base and a TON of my own overlaying stuff, titanium backup removed all the samsung K*K.

when I look for update over OTA, there is nothing available, a few weeks ago I got an update on google play services and since then its eating my battery for breakfast, I had the actual battery issue as well, but samsung has replaced the battery wiht a new one.

what would be the recommendation to download 4.3 and get it to my phone (from what I can see it fixes the google play services issue naturally)

just so we are on the same page OTA says "your device has been modified. Software updates not available"

I am with MTN if that helps at all
 
Yep rooting takes away your ability to do a OTA update. Best bet is to grab a 4.3 from sammobile
 
thanks, having a few issues with that though, download never starts for one thing Do I need to do it through Kies?
 
Not sure about kies but i did it previously on my S2 with ODIN
 
I'm having a weirdness with my Wanamlite 4.3 ...
Every now and then the wifi turns off. Have to pull the battery to get it turned on again - and then it has lost the passwords for all my wifi networks.

wtf.
 
Hello clever people!

My S4 had wonderful battery life (well, compared to my old S2) but since the update is SUCKING battery. My mobile data icon switches between H+ and 3G every few seconds, although I am in a full HSDPA area (at home). I'm guessing this is causing battery life sufferage. Even connected to wifi I notice on my battery usage screen that mobile data is coming on and going off like mad in the background. Phone lasts me half a day with a few minutes of usage.

Eish...
