I want to learn app development, and i see you can download the software free from https://developer.android.com Has any body played with this software to build your own apps. Do i need to pay a service fee to publish my app. Any info will be nice to start off with

You can download Google's Android studio, which is their new IDE for Android development. You pay once off around $25 to be an app developer and this enables you to publish apps to the Play Store. On the verge of publishing our app to the play store.
Pity I cannot have people download it and give me feedback, it's only for doctors.
The android development was 'exiting'?!

Anycase I use eclipse with the adt plugin etc.

Oh and you only need to pay the $25 when you want to publish.

For app store you have to pay once off and % of sales, but you can aslo host your own apps and pay nothing to no one. Limited income on second option, unless you do targeted aps for companies. Like say build an app on request.
