hi Guys,

small question to those that got more experience with rooting and loading custom ROM's

I finally flashed and rooted my phone, really enjoying all the 1000's of options.

I think I flashed a Cyanogen mod made specifically for my phone, but the FM radio wont work.

according to some other guys on XDA its a common problem and they get around it with installing spirit FM,
tried that, but can't get the correct setting I need to use? what should I set my chipset to?

anybody else had this problem with cyanogen mod? what do you guys use to get around faulty FM radio app not working?

Spirit FM There is a update called Spirit Fm 2 and I think there should still be a free version he released on XDA.

Your wording worries me - I'm sure it has to be 100% for your phone's make & model no., or you're likely to have problems.

I've a rooted Huawei Y300 with Cyanogen Kitkat 4.4.4 (recently put on a build from Sept. 2014, as found more recent one was draining the battery too fast), and just checked the built-in Cyanogen FM Radio, which works fine.

Any more info. from you & can try help further.

You could always just use TuneIn Radio and enjoy streaming radio from all over the world. I haven't listened to SA radio stations in years.

+1. But can still listen to local (streaming) using it.
Use it so much I purchased the pro version. Awesome app.

I also have the pro version. I would consider listening to our local stations if the quality wasn't so poor. There really should be a minimum of 128kbps for streams.
