Android App & Widget Thread

To answer ur question, no, AFAIK the default messaging app does not allow u to control the colour of the notification light... But why would u not wanna install Handcent?

Question, on Handcent SMS when you get a sms your little notification light at the speaker turns blue, does anyone know if you can do the same for the default messaging app in 2.1?

yes you can without handcent....I use Blink - Flash LED from the market, its free. You can customise different colours for sms, mss, email. incoming calls, missed calls etc

I recall seeing an app where it's a little statue/figurine looking up, when you move the camera around the angle of the statue changes depending on which way you move the phone, I think it was on iPhone but I was wondering if anyone knew of an Android equivalent?

Anyone else using AppBrian Market Sync? You can browse apps on your pc & select install & then when u feel like it you open the app on your phone & sync/download & install the apps you selected. I think Android Market is going to have the same sort of setup soon.

Yeah I use that as well, it not perfect, but it saves a lot of battery power considering you don't browse around for apps on the phone...

Anyone know of an app that beeps every 30mins. kinda like some digital watches that beeped every hour.

On my Hero, I can only do a daily repeat of an alarm or a 30min countdown timer that can't repeat automatically.

Air control game is great. Such a simple game, but quite a lot of fun.

Air control, BlockStone are awesome! they've stolen about 2 hours of my life :p

I see no-one in this forum is doing app reviews yet... I wouldn't mind doing a few, but would anyone use them or is everyone content using the reviews on other forums...?

I don't even bother looking for app reviews. If someone mentions it as being cool I'll download it and try it out.

Toggle Settings - Let you create endless variations of profiles, bases on any "rule" that you set. Create profiles like Symbian's "Meeting" "Outdoor" etc.

RemoteDroid: Control your PC remotely. I have a 'media' PC connected to my TV and have been using wireless mouse/keyboard to control it while sitting on the couch. This has completely replaced that.

Install the server on your PC and then connect to it via wifi. Mouse works like a touchpad on a notebook and kbd opens up at a touch of a button. I was very surprised at the accuracy of the mouse.

JuiceDefender: Powerful app for saving battery life. Schedules turning on or off APNs at intervals, or when screen is off or set to control it for your location.
