Android Auto

The cable makes a difference, yes. My s22 ultra would not work with my Huawei P30 Pro's cable.

I think Huawei does something weird with thier type a to type c cables to get it to support super charge. I tried a bunch of other cables and most other ones worked.

The Huawei cable could also not fast charge my s22 ultra.
Bought another cable - working - thanks

Wtf, why in 2022 would they design a product for a mobile device where everything is wire-less including going as far as leaving out the headphone jack only to make this app only work when plugged in?

I saw a US review very recently of either the latest BMW or Hyundai EV and one complaint was also that Android auto required the phone to be plugged in. Is Apple CarPlay also like that?

I’m assuming with these headunits if you just want to play music you can still pair via BT and steam audio?
On Honda, yes, Bluetooth allows normal calls and music.
WhatsApp calls don't work - rings and shows on display but you can't answer it.

You can't answer or end Whatsapp Bluetooth calls, but if your phone is mounted for easy access, you can answer on it and speak via Bluetooth.

Yes, Apple is the same.

You can stream music. I don't mind the cable, not holding my phone in hand anyway. Also Spotify works awsome on Android Auto, sound quality is good.

@Crimson & Blue makes a good point about charging having it plugged in.

Depends on the Car. Wireless here. Connects to a Wifi connection but I can still use Maps etc

Battery prefers being discharged to 40%... overall life will be longer.
My phone is set to charge to 85% and by the time I get home its at 35%. So I don't really want to charge it more during the day unless I am driving to Durban and want Waze running the whole time.

You know literally every smartphone these days has overcharge/surcharge protection?

Charing to 100 and then letting it drop to 0 will cause more wear on the battery, long term.

You'll get more cycles if you don't do the above.

What year is this? 2016? How often do you change your phone?

When your car headunit turns on , do you have to accept the safety warning absolving Honda for the crimes you commit while driving and interacting with the head unit. My 2019 CRV does this and I will never buy a Honda again because of this. If you don't tap, then the radio just goes back to clock mode. Just curious if they still persisting with this

Oh and the KIA also had that stupid safety warning on their head unit at startup so another manufacturer whose cars I will never buy.

Oh it gets worse. While driving, Mazda makes your touchscreen become a regular screen unless you are under 8kmh, because of "safety".
You have to use the control knob to make your way through the menus if you aren't at crawling speeds.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Makes my old prado feel like a Cadre's car.

Shot.
This sounds awesome. Seems a bit pricey though.
I assume one could charge (wirelessly or cable) the phone while connected to this device?

That is correct.
I have the Motorola MA-1 and when my phone's battery is low I plug it into my battery pack (Rosmoss Sense 8 30,000mAh)
