Does anyone know if there are any .flv download apps out there. Or alternatively, is there any way to save youtube, etc vids to phone/tab.

Share you knowledge. Its the right thing to do! :)

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab using MyBroadband Android App

Personally, if I'm going to stream something, I might as well download it. Uses the same amount of data. Our per MB models mean we don't have the luxury of streaming the same video each time we want to show it to someone.

Even from PC, I download almost everything. Have to kill the window with streaming in it though, otherwise it grabs it twice...

Which is the better format for the likes of the Galaxy Tab/S and Desire HD: .flv or .mp4? More efficient I guess- the hardware can handle great encoding/compression.

don't download youtube vids so cant recommend one, but try TubeMate: YouTube Downloader, FREEdi YouTube Downloader, YouTube Downloader...they seem to have good user ratings.

I've used Tubemate, seems to work well. Lets you save the videos at 720p.

I would say MP4, since they can't play *.flv :p
Well I could be wrong, but it didn't work when I tried. Makes no sense that it can't play *.flv when it can stream flash videos.

quite a few apps out there, but all the ones i have used each have their own issues.

Jet-VD YouTubeAid is good, allows you to download in mp4, and upto HD720p, been using it for the past 5months and its been awesome. :)

You can do it through a number of websites- just google "download youtube" and you will get a ton of options

*Edit - oops I see I resurrected this from the dead

I frequently use Tubemate to download tonnes of stuff whenever I come across free wi-fi. Give it a go.

Another +1 for Tubemate!

Tubemate 2.0.6 is leaving .smi files that were never there before.

It also appears as if the .mp4 videos I've downloaded are "hidden"- I can't access them from my PC- any ideas?
