Android calendar sync

I'd like to sync my events from FB to both my Sony tablet and S3 - what is the easiest way?

Sync to gmail and get a gmail calendar app?
Download a new calendar app?

Facebook app adds the events to your Google calendar, does not sync it up to Gmail as for security the calendar is read only outside of Facebook.
