Does this keep track of your phone by locating the hardware or whether your account is logged in?

The Google account has to be signed in to the phone for you to be able to track the phone.

And location services have to be turned on all the time im sure. Which is something I'm not 100% comfortable with. The balance between privacy and security is kind of hard to strike. Thus so far personally I've decided not to use ADM
