Android DSTV Remote app

I need some help testing my free android app on the android store.
It's a DSTV remote app for Samsung S4/S5, HTC One or any other Kitkat device.

I could only test it on my HTC One and PVR 2P.
I've coded support for the Explora and Samsung devices, but can't test since I don't own any of them.

I'm open to all suggestions and comments.

i think its a remote control app with the functionality of the physical dstv remote that comes in the box, would require an android device with an IR blaster

Think you've got it wrong. I'ts an infrared remote app.
It basically replicates your current infra-red remote using the phones built in IRDA blaster
 
Working quite well I havent been using my physical remote completely the past couple days&not missing it. Kudos

I have also received confirmations that its working on -
Phones: S4, S5, Galaxy Note 3, Note tablet, HTC One.
Decoders: Explora, PVR 2p and the basic entry level decoder.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I'm open to any suggestions, so let me know.

But the note does not have IR, does it?
 
The Note didn't have IR, I know this for a fact because I tried this 18 months ago.
The phone was killed 2 weeks ago by my son, so when I stripped it, I confirmed it aswell.

Sorry, that must read Note 3.
 
I've had some questions around this app and LG phones with IR blasters. I did some research.

Here's the deal....

LG locked down access to the IR blaster on LG phones. They do provided access to the blaster via their Quick Remote api. The only problem with that is they only allow access to IR codes from their own internal database, and do not allow adding custom ir codes to the database, nor sending new codes to the blaster directly.

They further did not implement the native KitKat changes to their software to access the IR module directly. They are apparently "preparing" some sort solution around all of this. No time estimate
 
The layout is a bit busy and small. And the up-arrow is just beneath the power button. Hmmm. That could be risky.
How about a 2 screen approach. The normal buttons for everyday use on one screen and the other less often used buttons (like power and the numerical buttons) on another screen. Then swip up or down to go from one screen to the other. That would work best in my humble opinion.

I like the idea of the hidden numerical buttons. This will create a lot more space on the screen.

I'm currently busy re-working the layout and design, especially for tablets. Also some other enhancements coming soon.
