Android Gamepad controller

They used to make Bluetooth keyboards etc. but then inexplicably stopped around the same time as everyone else. There must still be some stuff out there though.

They still make loads of Bluetooth Keyboards and Mice for example

Hell They even make them specific for Android:

That's why, I wonder why I can not find Bluetooth game controllers on the site? or even if the normal wireless ones work?

Not going to spend money to find out seeing that I already have access to a PS3 controller, but would be interesting to know for other people that might be interested.

So I've been the China mall over the weekend and came across one of these:

That's right a "FONY" PS3 controller :D hehe. The Bluetooth ones go for about R200.

I just wish I knew if it would work with my ICS tablet. :(

Yes, they normally go for about R600 IIRC.

Ya I almost did, but I recalled someone here said they might not work. I didn't want to chuck 200 bucks in the bin (I don't have a PS3 to use it on should it not work on my tab). I'm probably going to regret it as I don't go there very often. :(

I know someone that bought an original PS3 controller from ebay for R200
The fakes won't work on the PS3, ever since they got hacked, because they disabled access for unknown/unlicensed peripherals (I had a PS2->PS3 controller converter that stopped working after they updated the firmware to prevent piracy USB dongles)

Those fakes should work on Android though, since they don't need to worry about USB hacks to play copied games, and therefore won't be checking the authenticity of the attached USB device.

@ Elimentals

What is the procedure to pair the PS3 controller with S2?

I don't have an S2 so can not tell you how to do it on that phone but I can tell you how I got it to work with my tablet.

I plugged it into the USB and turned on Bluetooth. After which I just pressed the PS button on the controller. On the tablet it showed up and I just tapped on it and said connect. That was it, no software no configure nothing extra.

After connect I unplugged the cable and just used as normal. Now all I need to connect is just turn on Bluetooth and it auto connects and can be used for navigation or games.

anyone know where I can get the proper usb cable for the SII and ps3 connection? please..

BUMP - USB game pads

So Ive got a cheap Chinese USB game controller (Wireless USB receiver plugged into phone/tablet) and am a bit disappointed by the lack of android games supported by the USB controller.

Ive tested a couple of games and found the following so far:

Not working:
GTA vice city :(
MC4
Rayman Jungle Run

Working:
Ski Safari (one button game).
Sonic4 (Seems to work well - think other Sega games should work as well).
Riptide GP (works partly)
Reckless Racing. (steering works - not sure of all other game aspects)

It would be interesting to see what others with USB game pads have found to work.

Another one you can add is Shadowgun for working, not working is any of the racing games just no support
