My iPad hasn't touched iTunes for some time now. No need to use iTunes at all. I move everything between my iPad and several computers using wi-fi. The new iOS 5 will cut the link completely.
As far as the iTunes Store goes, there you are limited to one market yes, but that isn't a bad thing imo. The quality of the content is well managed so that the fart app don't give you any s h i t (for example).
Ok, as an owner of android and iOS, i would say they both equal.
iOS has the better OS while Android the openness (which is probably why apps crash more as they not checked as thoroughly as apple check theirs - my guess).
I would buy another iPad, but would stick with an Android phone as i would want my most portable device to be open.
But i think google will be running the world soon.
