Hey guys,

Anyone know of a place where I can get my hands on an Android Mini PC quickly?

Looking to buy the MK802IIIS model, but cant wait for 2+ weeks.

Hi

I have a MK802IIIs. Do you have any specific questions? In general it works quite well. Just in the beginning it did hang when booting up, then I had to flash the firmware new and since then everything works very well. But on there website are decent instructions to do so.

I use it mainly for streaming videos from my media server to the TV, Music from the phones to the TV (which is connected to the sound system), watching youtube, and some other streaming services via the web (mainly german TV stations). I use Bubble UPnP on all the android devices in the network. Playing videos or picture from the phone works well with allshare (samsung).

Only issue I have is that the remote control app looses connection after a wile, but in general I operate the device with a wireless mouse and that always works.

I am looking to replace my Raspberry Pi that I ran with Openelec (XBMC). A couple of weeks ago I lost my router and Pi due to a lightning strike.

So I would like to get a device with wifi and mainly run XBMC on it.

Do you know of any alternatives and if it is possible for the device to boot directly into XBMC?

Sounds interesting! I just wanted a media player that can handle different formats- .flv mp4 etc.
where do you get your apps from because I assume it isn't google play compatible.

Yes, play store works fine. The mentioned formats as well.

No wifi issues at all, but my TV is just a meter away from my wifi router.

But I had it as well connected to the hot spot of my cell and that worked fine too.

I see a guy selling them on BidorBuy for R131

http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/1026...V_Box_Allwinner_A10_DDR3_1GB_RAM_4GB_ROM.html

Looks like a reliable seller - but this is quite an old device. Whats good these days - there are so many on the market, but very few reviews.

Anything i should be looking out for when selecting a device.

Last thing, i read quite a few comments about people having issues connecting these devices to their wifi networks - whats the experience here?

Bringing it in from China? Thought about bringing similar units in sometime back. With the Rockchip 3066 they were about $36-$38 a pop. Just not sure about the reliability of these units...
