Android O

Wow. Some amazing improvements! Thanks for the heads up!

- Background limits are sorely needed. I have been s**tting on Google for years for the need for users to root and install apps like Greenify and Amplify to get the most out of their batteries. It doesn't matter what phone you currently have - Greenify makes it better. This is bs, until Android O hopefully.

- Autofill APIs should make services like LastPass even better. Good stuff.

- Finally PIP for Youtube so I can continue watching a video whilst doing other things. Some manufacturers have had PIP for a while already, but it's good for it to be a stock feature.

- Adaptive icons looks like something that will drastically improve icon masking for unthemed apps in icon packs. We might even get 'icon packs' that don't even have icon replacements, but rather a way of treating your existing icons. More good stuff.

What do you think it will be called? Will the do another deal with a confectionery corporation?

Isn't oreo trademarked?

So is KitKat. Making a deal for KitKat was almost instantaneous according to Google, as it suited both parties terrifically. I'd be surprised if Oreo wasn't the same. It does nothing but promote the Oreo brand.

True

With a little luck, we may even get badge notifications in stock Android at last...

Android Orgasm.

That's what it should be called.

I know it's a departure from the candy theme - but this is just better.

What is a notification badge?

The little numbers that are superimposed on apps with pending notifications. I've had them for years with Nova Launcher Prime, as have many other people. Pretty weird it's taken Android this long to introduce them as a stock feature though.
