Android Phone

Dont get the iphone4, it is old and slow...I'm not even content with my 4S.

The galaxy S2 kicks ass, good screen, better SoC (CPU, GPU), better cam @8MP, more onbaord storage, more custom roms.

The Desire X I havent used, but on spec the only thing thats good about it is the screen.

The SGS2 wins hands down...theres advantages with older phones with great specs, more parts, more experience with the phone online, more roms...only thing that sucks is the super amoled is damn expensive to replace so try not to crack it.

Remove those heavily tinted glasses son

I'm serious dude, if it was the HTC one X then I would vouch for the one X (I got one)

But the Desire X? with an andreno203? 768M of ram and 4gig rom
Or a Sgs2 with Mali400, 1gig ram and 16/32g rom?

Wheres the competition here? (besides the look)

And the real world difference between the two ? As in measurable performance ?

Negligible. It's a matter of personal preference.

Negligible for some.

Like saying the measurable performance between a Golf GTI and a golf 1.3, negligible because they do the same thing, but the experience when doing it is slightly different.

Having less ram and a weaker GPU would cause the launcher to lag a little here and there, games to lag a bit when it's 3D intensive, less amount of apps can be ran at the same time. Having 4gigs of rom, u can only use a bit more than a gig for storage, which means u need to buy a micro sd card to get the same amount of storage. Transferring to and from micro sds are generally slower than onbaord rom

The list goes on....

If you going to use the phone just as a phone, not a smartphone, then yes, no difference...

For me practical use comes before aesthetics...I want the best my money can buy :)

Which ones screen would break the easiest if I dropped it? :p I always drop my phone haha.

First Q, which phone.
now which will last the fall,
next Q, Which one will make the cheapest calls?

Get one [android] with the cheapest contract, with a cover.

One of my friends dropped kicked an S2 against the wall while carrying a printer and it was apparently fine. Have dropped my S3 a few times with just a couple of scratches from desk/pocket height, no cover.

Gave my wife the choice between an S2 and the HTC Desire, personally I think the Desire has more aesthetic appeal but she thought the S2 looked better (:wtf:) so whatever, when it gets here will flash with JB. The specs are superior to be honest, 4GB onboard vs 16/32GB is well.. yeah.

I had an HTC Desires S and I absolutely loved it. The Sense UI is awesome. The fact that you can open apps directly from your lock screen. When you take you phone away from your ear on a call the sensor on the HTC is much quicker to unlock the screen than the S2( Had an S2 for a while, not impressed).

Its the little things HTC has done that win the vote for me. When typing with the Qwerty keyboard the HTC has "shortcuts" straight to punctuation where as with the S2 you have to open another screen then return the the main screen. If you add punctuation from another screen on the HTC, simply press space and it returns to your text. There are allot more preloaded apps on the HTCs the on the S2. Eg Facebook, SoundHound, the weather app is MUCH better on HTC etc

That's just some of the things I prefer with the HTC. My advise is to find somebody with an S2 and an HTC and compare.

Good Luck

Ill swop my Desire S (almost new/ sits in a cupboard) for an almost new S2 any day.

I'm talking about the Desire x ! Muuuuchh better than the Desire S. I've decided! If I can source a white Desire X I'll get it, cos it looks hot! But I don't know if MTN has the white one they told me they only had the black one? :( and that looks very average so I'll get the galaxy then failing finding a white one through MTN ! :D

Great stuff

Reason why I talk about the inners so much was coz I brought a Motorola XT615 motolux beginning of the year for my gf, apparently it matches my Razr....and it had a Cortex A5 CPU with an Adreno205

My god was she complaining about the slow speed when opening two or more apps, lack of space for apps blah blah blah, then she forced me to swap with her.

It was terrible, feels like I am running windows 7 on a Celeron 600 with 128megs of ram. No matter how cool that celeron box looks, using it was just a constant pain on my patience.

Now the Desire X has a dual core, so it should not have this problem...but the motolux's hardware seriously left it's spot in my mind...never buy a phone with A5 CPU, adreno205 or worse...because it just makes me wanna cry each time I thought back about it.
