Android Storage Bug

I've got a cheapie tablet running Android 4.2.2 With 16GB internal storage labelled as "sd card". My problem is that the device will somehow automatically and unexpectedly unmount the internal storage and as a result I cannot download nor delete any files. Apps are accessible though. Is there anyway I could remount the the storage like you would with an external SD card? or an app perhaps. The only thing I've tried is formattingit, then it will remount it after. But I'm tired of using this method because I lose all my files after. Any help will be appreciated

No. It's actually divided into 3. Internal Storage, SD Card & External SD

No mount option under Settings - > Storage?
