Android system data file at 9gb and growing

Good day all,

Help with this irritating problem. After updating to 4.2.1 on my SG3 the system data file just keeps on increasing. In one weekend it grew by 8.2gb . Resetting to factory did bring it down, but its just growing up again, have only installed bare min app. (gmail, chrome, diskusage, whatapp)

Pls help, its almost like my Android is eating itself up .

I would suggest you install something like 1 Tap Cleaner to see what's eating up your storage.

I see mine (4.1.2) sits on 400MB, might be a bug in 4.2.1?

I wonder if it doesn't have something to do with the "Keep this device backed up with my Google Account?" tick. Does it seem to be downloading data constantly when on wifi?
