Android Tablet for Photography

I've had one since last week but I've since given it to the missus because for my wants and needs the nexus and android are bordering on. . . I almost want to say useless. I do like the idea of a 7" tablet for some applications but not for photography related stuff, unless anyone can convince me otherwise of course.

I wouldn't say it's almost useless. Maybe if photography was your only use, but I have more things to do with it. I really wanted something I can slip in my day bag when travelling, and this is perfect for it. Google Maps with offline abilities is a killer feature. And, it can use my saved maps - I have maps for every place I visit - it's a great way to plan. Having that handy, with offline maps, would be awesome. Most of the travel related apps I have on my iPhone are available.

Aside from the Google Maps, the iPad does all the same things, better in my opinion (so far), and of course the photography side is much better, but I'm not looking for anything heavyduty. Just keywording and making backups.

Yeah, useless wasnt the right word, it was late and I was staring down the barrel of another long day. What I meant to say was impractical. :)

So, hows that nexus 7 working out?

Returned it tonight. Other than the software issue, I also noticed the screen flickers faintly. I don't notice it when I use it in a reasonably lit room, but when I'm reading in the dark, it's quite irritating.

iPad Mini time :)
