What is a "noobs" ?

NOOBS is an easy operating system installation manager for the Raspberry Pi. That's all I got.

But at least he's a "noob" that listens.

Currently he's reading up on that Droid TV thread.

Good for you, Ssupman! :p

Regrettably not familiar with the protocol so call me a noob if it make you feel good.........just that there is so much out there to read. Wanted to get a good recommendation since I thought while being in London next week, I could get myself one or is this not advisable?

I'm using a Cloudgate circle, works great for my needs (Netflix, Plex and youtube....on occation Showmax). Problem is to get a remote that will suit you.
What is your needs/expectation from such device, maybe we can be more specific with recomendations. What works for me, might not work for you.

I also have a Roku streaming stick (main device in my house), has the best remote. Used mainly for Plex and Netflix.

I recently bought an Amazon Fire TV to replace my Roku 3. Can handle 4K and works great with Kodi, Netflix, Hulu etc. Also running an emulator to play some classic NES / SNES / PS / GBA roms. Costs $99 on amazon excl. shipping. well worth it

Was looking at Roku as well, so undecided. Would like to use it for streaming (Netflix/ShowMax/etc) wanna kick the habit that's costing me close on to R1k pm.
