Android Useful Apps

Does the phone not do that automatically, pretty sure my pics upload to fast to be original size.

I don't think so. I will try, but if someone bitches about the size I'll tell Saint Nick to confiscate your prezzies :p

EDIT: Looks like your prezzies are safe. Thanks

I have owned it for months and never used it, got it on that 99c special, the whole prediction thing just irritated me back then as I still used a lot of shorthand, but with a qwerty in my hands all day you evntually just start typing more and more without the shorthand, once you do that swift is awesome and the afrikaans is pretty damn good too. Like the latest update, teh red theme is pretty spiffy, but some really smart guy suggested a blue berry theme as well and I think it owuld look as good if not better than the red berry, so come on guys join us int he quest.

Red theme???

App is up-to-date but I don't have a red theme option.

Still stuck on the neon theme

Okay. Checked out the new themes.

Wow! A bit red, isn't it? Little too much to my liking :D

I'm on the Sky Theme now.

Swiftkey FTW.

Another thing I have noticed with ES is that it doesn't tell you why it failed to copy e.g SDcard is full (were solid seems to do this).

ES does display the error message as a toast, not a notification message.

And another useful feature on Solid is the Filter, for when you browse though a large directory looking for a specific file... /ES didn't have any of these last time I looked.

ES does allow you specify the file name and type when searching for a specific file... what type of filter do you mean though?

Love your reply, but you certainly weren't using it when you pressed 'submit' :p

Nope, desktop, generally speaking my spelling ****, but as a web developer I can get away with it, I do after all need to spell like an idiot to begin with.

Here is a nice round up of useful apps and more from Lifehacker:

HAha - I was just coming to post that - or at least just about Wave Control - loving it - and for the added functionality, I'll go with the Pro version at $3.

At the moment its a bit of a gimmick for me - so I'll give it a week before I decide.
But it sure is handy while working and listening to music at the office - one swipe over the proximity sensor and skips to next track! :D

Yeah ES gave a generic error e.g. "failed to copy file." where Solid explorer would actually tell me why it failed e.g. failed to copy - out of disk space.

Solid has a very handy filter option, when you are browsing a large directory and want to quickly see folders/files with a specific word as part of its name, you can filter that specific name almost instantly. Where ES would need to search and takes much longer in large directories.

Ive now done several speed tests and Solid seems to win with copy speed when copying from a network share to Android. I copied a 51MB file from network share to my tablet, this was the average:
ES 00:51 m
Solid 00:25 m
(This was to the same class 4 micro sd)

Also Solid has the ability to pause the copy process. With Solid I can pause copy then reboot my wifi router, resume copy without a hitch. Where ES just stared at me blankly.

Hi everyone.

I am looking for a similar app to Apple iPad's NoteTakerHD, to use with my Note 2. You know, where you have a area to write with the stylus at the bottom of the screen that automatically or easily scrolls on whilst you write, but the actual writing is small at the top of the document...don't know if that's a good explanation... :p
