Android Useful Apps

Found Minimalistic Text Widget (by DEVMIL). Pretty nifty barcode battery bar widget included.
 
What download speeds are you guys getting on the Play Store? Both S3's in my house are getting atrocious speeds, not more than 100-150KB/s for a few seconds before stabilising around 30-50KB/s.

I didn't wanted to create a new thread just for this question, although it relates to apps, anyways.

When updating apps in Play Store, why are some kept in 'manual updates' whilst others you can update in batch? This is despite selecting 'allow automatic updates' for each app (and I know that actually refers to updating the app with you manually selecting it to do so; that doesn't move it to the group update batch)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think its when the apps permissions change through an update and needs confirmation from the user to accept the new permissions.
 
My understanding is that if the app has changed permissions that requires a manual update for you to agree to the new terms.

sure but what I meant was something that talks to both phones without her having to load whatsapp on her BB. actually did not know you can load whatsapp on a BB. not a BB fan!

I doubt very much that BB well allow interoperability with BBM, it is one of their final lock ins

SMS and MMS is the only textual means of communicating between phones without any required setup. In any case, a phone isn't complete without WhatsApp installed.
