Use TWRP or CWM and make a nandroid.
 
Does a nandroid save apps/settings and system settings?
Because a full nandroid backup of my phone with 14gb of space used was only 3Gb?
 
I was hoping for a way to backup my sms's/whatsapps/etc and be able to load those onto the new Custom ROM...

Yes. It is a full backup. But not stuff life photos, music, video, etc

Titanium Backup... Don't leave home without it. Don't wipe SD, or else you must backup you photos, music, videos, etc to you PC

How do you backup whatsapps/sms's with Titanium? I only see the option to backup apps?

Backup app and data with TB and copy the WhatsApp folder and TB folder to your PC (to be safe). Install ROM, install TB, restore WhatsApp abd data. Job's done

Oh... SMSes - Backup with TB and restore with TB. Call history too of you want it. Call history and SMSes are yellow items under system. WhatsApp is just another app under user. User and system are selections under filter.

DO NOT RESTORE ANY SYSTEM APPS EXCEPT THE YELLOW ONES ONTO ANOTHER ROM... EXCEPT of you want a R7K paperweight.

I hope not. What a huge amount of wasted space that would be. I just move the attachments I want to hang on to into the normal media folders in the device, which are backed up.
 
I use SMS Backup +, backs up WhatsApp and SMS to my Gmail account. Perfect
 
Who still gets SMS'e they have to back up? I also don't really see the point of backing up WhatsApp, do you guys ever go back and read it? Unless if you use your WhatsApp for business.

It is quite easy, there are predefined batch options. I never worry about call logs, so I only backup all user apps.
Google has the rest backed up for my, I use sms+ to backup my messages, although I actually do not know why.
 
What app would you like to see that has not been created yet? What must the app do and what do you dislike in apps these days?
