Android Useful Apps

You are the man, thanks!

I knew there was an easy way, just sent the app plus data in a simple file, single file TiBkp, sent with esexplorer, send via lan, via the share menu, saved it on the other device. Then all I needed to do was double click on the file and titanium auto opens and asks if you want to import backup and install, easy peasy.

Stoked been doing it the hard way up till this point, this is a pleasure.

np :)

It's not the transfer of the files that's the issue its finding the correct ones in the titanium folder, what would I be looking for, the naming structure seems a little opaque?
Jô, just look at the file names. If you have more than one backup set, choose the latest three? That's the beauty of Ti backup...

So here's the exact method, Titanium can be a little confusing sometimes so I wrote it down :D

Go to the backup and restore tab that shows you the app list/view
Press once on the app you want to work with, the action pop-up menu will jump up
Swipe left to pull over the special features menu, then press " Send Latest backup"
Easy import exports the app as a Tbkp file that can be clicked at the destination and will auto open and be imported/installed by Titanium. The other types called separate files are the raw Apk and data files

In the same menu is the "detach from market" command which will stop an app auto updating.
This is a nice feature for apps that were free and suddenly go paid or were downloaded outside of the play store and you don't want auto updated.

Also in this menu is clear cache, which is nice for clearing the cache of various programs that get enormous caches.

Are any of you using the free version of Tapatalk? I got an email from Tapatalk tuning me to get the free version and enable VIP status before 1 July to maintain my paid Tapatalk privileges. So fine, I downloaded the free version. But oh my God it is absolutely hideous. One of the worst UI's I've ever seen in an app.

I had no idea there is a paid and free version. I bought v2, but as far as I know everyone was moved to a free version.

The latest version has been improved quite a lot and is much better. When it came out it was a -1 and is a 3 to 4 stars ATM IMO.

Ever since their major ui "revamp" it's been terrible. A pain to use!

Also the dev's don't respond to emails.

I'm busy trying to get into it, but it's hard. Some aspects are nice improvements, like not having an empty white column to the left of every post and consolidating quotes from every forum. But the UI is just so ugly. That big button to create new threads shouldn't be there as it's not a frequently used function, the orange bar along the top is far too wide and the app should have a landing page similar to the previous version.

I've made the switch from the mybb app to full on tapatalk... the only thing i don't like is the photo's don't auto resize if they are too big.

Just a heads up, here's a link to those eBay Transcend MicroSD HC 32GB 45MB/S Class 10 for R145:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131171176826?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

H2testw verified the capacity of the cards as being 32GB, speeds seem to be well below the claimed 45MB/s but I'm not sure if a budget USB 2.0 card reader can even support sustained 45MB/s read/writes?

They checked as genuine via a serial number lookup:
http://www.transcend-info.com/support/verification

This is the result, which matches the eBay listing and the product I received:

Product
microSDXC/SDHC Class 10 UHS-I 300x (Premium)
Transcend Part No.
TS32GUSDU1
Product Description
32GB MicroSDHC Class10 U1 w/adapter
Warranty Until
Life Time Warranty

I got the same mail and did as they suggested to get vip status activated.

It's a step back as far as the UI is concerned, sure, but you can fiddle about a bit with it and hide some of the hideousness at least.

No big probs from me but I must admit I hate the forum viewing options along the top rather than a swipe from the side.

I added R70 and got it the following day. http://www.takealot.com/transcend-32gb-300x-class-10-uhs-i-micro-sd-card-with-adapter/PLID35718397

Checked on Amazon and the outright failure rate for virtually any brand of high capacity MicroSD card is relatively high?
I would have thought, no moving parts, always stored in a dry secure place(ie in an SD slot), they would be pretty robust?
What are peoples experiences with high capacity MicroSD cards?

I don't want to derail this lovely conversation, but maybe start it's own thread.... none of this is really a "Useful Android App"

:p
