Johannesburg - As voters geared up to cast their ballots on Wednesday, angry protesters burnt down two voting tents in Siyaya, Freedom Park, near Eldorado Park on Monday night.

The youths were frustrated at being left without electricity for the past few days.

Portable toilets were also burnt down and chairs and tables were stolen.

Siyaya residents claim there are problems with electricity transformers because people tamper with them, which results in power cuts.

The problem has now intensified so that the area has been without power for four or five days.

On Monday City Power officials were in the area trying to fix the problem.

I can see how this helps the situation ...... well not so clearly ........ and glad to see these delinquents understand freedom .... well sort of.

Bloody lunatics. That's the freedom the ANC brought about......burn/destroy anything and everything even when it now partly belongs to yourself. Later you toi toi because it's not available to you anymore and destroy something else. African thinking at it's best.

Talk about throwing away the chance to rectify the problem....

I am confused.
There are problems with electricity transformers because people tamper with them, which results in power cuts. Therefore, voting stations and portable toilets need to be burned down, and tables/chairs stolen, irrespective of the fact that City Power officials were there yesterday to try and address the problem.

You don't have to get it. As long as something burns, it is an African solution to African problems...

You'd think they'd use the opportunity to get rid of the ANC problem but no, why use logic. Let's rather burn the solution staring us square in the face because we're morons and incapable of looking past the green, yellow and black.

They mess with the transformers to get free electricity, stuff it up, bitch about it, then burn the **** to the ground.

Yeah. The future of this country is bright!
