Just keep in mind that not all the shows are in both Japanese and English so you might have to read some subs.
+1 on sticking to the proper thread.
Also it's hella tricky to recommend anime to people sometimes. However unrelated I would recommend FMA Brotherhood in any case. Miss that anime![]()
Thanks, I did search before but that didn't come up.
I did a quick search and it didn't pop up for me either. Go figure.

Never understood why people like anime. What's the drawing card?
Who would watch English dubs on purpose?
Japanese sound track with English subs is always superior.
Mature story lines really. After a while shallow american tv with predictable story lines gets so tiresome.
There are themes that get tackled in Anime that mass market TV wouldn't go near.

I don't understand Japanese, and would rather listen to the English dubs if they are of a decent quality. I looked up which version when looking at Death Note and it seemed that the English dubs were of a high standard; that has been my experience. What's the point of watching Japanese with subs if the English dubs are really good?
I never saw the appeal until I started watching Death Note. When I was younger I loved Pokemon and DBZ on tv but since then haven't really thought much about it.
The story line is damn good and there's a freedom as it's animated...
This is something that is difficult to explain but the english voice actors in the dubbed versions are generally ****. They can't convey emotion if it hit them in the face like a 50 ton truck. I prefer the Japanese audio purely because of the quality voice acting. Of course I cannot understand what they are saying mostly but their tone helps to get a lot more of the emotion across.

Because when they dub quite often they change things. Whether it be names or even how a situation should come across. I saw some dubs on DSTV after watching the same same series and japanese and it was like two different series.
Never again for me. I even play JRPGs with the japanese sound track.
Surely the subs aren't exactly what the Japanese is saying?
Been watching Death Note, and it's actually damn good.
Any other similar (or different) things anime watchers can recommend?
Sengoku Basara
Code Geass
What? They turned it into an anime?

It's much closer no doubt. Point is take it from seasoned otakus who started out just like you and ended up preferring the subbed versions instead. The dubbed versions just sound so lame and corny in comparison. Very few series a dubbed very well.
