Annoying Cell Broadcast Messages?

So yesterday, I flashed a new ROM onto my tablet, more specifically, CyanogenMod 11.0, and the experience has been great so far. However I keep getting these messages from the mobile network, Is there a way to stop them?

Edit: They appear ever few minutes, saying the same thing as above, and from what I assume is the area of the phone tower which I'm connected to.

I have no idea why they are on by default in most custom ROMs. Annoys the schit out of me, as it's not simply a case of switching it off in network settings (doesn't work) or in the messaging app (cell broadcast settings there don't work).

You actually have to be rooted, and freeze the app, or uninstall it. I did the latter. And depending on the ROM you're on, you're looking for either com.cellbroadcasts or something like that, or mobile broadcasts app in system apps. But because it's a system app, you have to have root access.

You can try in the messaging app. There is an option for cell broadcasts in the settings there, but it often does absolutely nothing...

Yep tried the messaging app and it did nothing, do you perhaps have a link to the method you used to disable it?

Root your phone, then you'll have access to system apps. You can then use an app from the Play Store to freeze or uninstall it. I chose to uninstall completely...
