I've been at the company for 3.5 years and go into my annual reivew expecting a small - but inflation equalling - yearly increase. I normally go with low as not be disappointed and it's worked ... until now.
We start with a chat of where I'd like to go, my career path and various off the record chats. I'm then told I'm too expensive for my role which is junior and as we're a small company, there's no where else to go. I've hit my glass ceiling.
Due to this, I hardly get an increase this year- and am told that this will be how things will work in future.
Time to jump ship?
I'm aware it's an easy choice, but actually just wanted to get it out of system
