I'll be very interested to see what kind of political impact these guys can have. Can they actually make a meaningful change? All of us are tired of meaningless promises from politicians while they cash their cheques from the corporations, but can Anonymous make a lasting difference, or are they just going to irritate everyone?
I am somewhat happy that at least resistance like Anonymous is possible. Back in the old days, the right to bear arms was enshrined in the US constitution as a means to empower the average man, and to balance government's power. Men could form a militia if they did not agree with government. Nowadays, that is becoming less and less possible, and less and less meaningful. But in the Internet age, the playing field is levelled so to speak. These guys have tremendous power, so much that the governments of the world really do need to sit up and take notice. However, thus far, I dont think they have actually got any government to agree to a policy change. The only thing they have done is outed that Aaron Barr dude after he made those stupid threats.
