Look, a hax0r, raaaaaaar... seriously, wtf... stop playing on your computer and go and play in the garden

The site is already back up. So what exactly was the point?

If you look at the time I posted the thread the site was still down. Saw it last night at 23h00 and then again this mornibg still down. So it was more as info to show the extent of what Anonymous is cabable of. You know sharing info is what the net is about.

Which is what? ... exactly?

Well for someone that has 32k posts you sure don't follow current Internet news do you? Please do me a favor and just google Anonymous. They are public, they publish their accomplishments. But if you are realy intrested go to www.whatis-theplan.org. Read up on them listen to what they have to say or just watch their videos on Youtube.

And what is the point of you registering here just to spread some useless news about this group of criminals?

If you actualy just read the link that I posted you would see that Anonymous is not a community of Hackers. It's a community of protesters. Educate yourself before you judge everything. The original post was for interest sake, not to premote their actions.

Anonymous have yet to achieve anything significant other than taking a few random pointless websites offline for a few hours.
It's not that we are ignorant of their doings, in fact we are well acquainted to with them.
But we have yet to see anything significant other than a few fanboys running around posting youtube videos and anonymous ominous warnings on various message boards.

I fully agree with your statement above but not with your facts. I don't consider Visa and Mastercard as "a few random pointless websites " or even the boycot of Paypal. Neither was the hack of HBGary Federal, which is a major security firm in America something not worth noticing. But belive what you want to believe I don't support them neither do I deny their accomplishments. I just picked it up as I saw yet again, said this many times, that the www.doxadeo.co.za site was affected.

Ja, no granted... they went after some major websites after the whole wikileaks thing broke. But my question is... How long were those sites actually offline and what was the resulting lasting consequence? Not much hey?

They have made a name for themselves in notoriety, but they have not actually achieved much beyond some token gestures.
And the public are still in two minds about whether these guys are the good guys or the bad guys.

True most people only hear of the negative side of their deeds, unfortunately as they have stated before they have no leaders. Different hackers attack their own targets, some for a good cause and others for their own reason whatever they might be. Most of their attacks on the wikileaks side lasted but hours, but did have some financial affects on those companies targeted. One of their hackers that got caught stated that no matter how good you are, you will eventualy be caught.

The website is the front door of the company. It is very embarrassing for them to have their site defaced or taken down and they react quite strongly when it does happen.
