Another adsl n00b, Help please

Had my line installed today, and got a netgear dg834guv5 modem from the techie

Ran the (telkom router) wizard that came on CD with the modem, Ran self-insall
Everything checks out fine. All the lights on the router are green, dsl synchs

Verified the adsl account on telkom`s website.

Signed up for an afrihost 1gb prepaid account to test internet.
Sent copy of ID
Got reply that account is active
(Kudos to afrihost for activating and verifying my account within 10 minutes of each email)

Every time I want to put in my user name and password in the final screen of the setup wizard the internet light on the router goes red. :confused:
 
nope, sorry, works now... I was just a little impatient.

Im` impressed with afrihost though... think i`ll stick with them for now
 
I think the LED goes red because it saves the data? I haven't used that router but when mine saves data it does the same.

Yeah, it went red for a little while and then green again. But the first 3 times it went red and stayed red.
1st handy trick i`ve learned is the 10 second reset.

Afrihost uncapped will do for now, where am I supposed to download more than 200gb anyway?
(previously disadvantaged 3g user syndrome)
Besides.. I like them... i`ts quicker to sign up with them that it takes telkom to answer the phone.


Still need to get used to not disconnecting from the internet though...
