So I thought I could apply at PostNet.

I checked on the site and the 2 in midrand and Kyalami do the applications.
I phoned Saturday morning to find out what docs I must bring with.

They answer: "Neo..what?"

So I ask to speak to the manager and he tells me that the people who can do it are not there till Monday.

So I end up phoning Neotel and give all my info, they decline my application pending bank statements becuase I've only been at my current company for 3 months.

I can easily show my payslip and my permanent contract for 2 years but they want bank statements. We'll see what they say now since I sent the bank statements on Saturday via email and phone an hour ago and nothing has been done.

Lets hope

Is there a possibility that I could give the Neotel Rep my reference number to find out what is going on with my app?

Also I wonder if Neotel will allow you to collect from their offices as consumers are generally not at home between business hours?

Please send me a private message with your contact details to follow up.

Mr Neotel Rep,

Is it possible to collect from the offices in Woodmead or do you have to have it delivered??

Thing is that I am a consumer, therefore work from 8-5, sometimes 4.
It would be impossible to deliver at my home address. Is it better to have it delivered to my work address or to collect?

So I'm still waiting for them to approve my application, nevermind what the first person told me. The application is still pending approval... now I wait, since Saturday.

eish, that doesn't sound right, COME ON Mr.Neotel make things happen for PeteGT plizzzzz !!!
I have ICS setup at home so you are more than welcome to come share my connection in the interim PeteGT and I won't even ask you for a R1000 deposit, a 6-pack would do just fine :) Sorry about your wait, wish I knew what their problem was. *hold thumbs*

Thanks for the comforting words, lets wait and see, supposed to be getting a call after 3.

So got a call this morning, application approved, but I have to pay the R1000  Deposit which is only redeamable at the end of the 24 month contract

So I'll pay that now and hopefully can collect soon.
I'm not entirely thrilled so far.

Atleast you have the option of neotel unlike most other south africans.

With interest?

Now I'm having the fun with internet banking that Neotel will not accept my reference and will not create the recipient.

So now I wait for a resolution.

So you cant add Neotel as a recipient without your account number, which I cant get unless I pay the deposit, same situation as someone else had on this forum. But they resolved it by me sending them an e-mail stating that they can debit my account. So hopefully they will do that today and I can collect the hardware tomorrow. So much for Up an running in under 48 hours. its now been 144 hours and counting.

So I'm still waiting for them to debit my account. The team leader at orders is now going to phone me and let me know whats happening. aaarrrggg!

yup, I had the exact same experience. Word of caution, when you get the device, you only have 5 days to return it if you're unhappy. I happened to try returning it on the 6th day, but I'm now screwed, stuck with them for 24 months!
