Another big turn for the rand

South Africa's rand has seen another bout of strength against the US dollar, reversing the losses seen at the start of the month.

“Investor sentiment has benefited from the credit rating upgrade from S&P with a still positive outlook, removal from the greylist, low inflation and low interest rates on the drop in the inflation target to 3.0% y/y,” she said.

Low inflation and interest rates? What planet are these economists living on? Do they even live in the same country as we do?

The country is still in freefall with municipalities crumbling and collapsing in every single province, cost of living is increasing while salaries stagnate and increases remain below inflation. Must be nice to live in lalaland.
