I got home tonight and my 6 month old Gen 8 microserver is flashing red at the bottom. Couldn't turn off or anything, so unplugged. When I plug it in again just the power light flashes - nothing happens.

No power surges or anything (all electronics are fine) and I really can't accept yet another HP microserver just dying.

How do I go about logging call / warranty and everything else ?
Email serial number to someone ?

So that's why Neotel was down.

Just call the center in India with serial and they will troubleshoot and send out tech guy

:( Oh dear. Sorry to hear.

Just today a colleague was trying to talk me into a Xeon E3-1230 3.3GHx for my Gen8. Hope the thing lasts through this backup.

Ok, now removed it everything it is booting up ... so replacing one by one to see the issue

Hope it's not dead.

My N36 and N54 have been running 24/7 for years without any problems.

Ok looks like I was premature in complaining. I replaced everything and it booted ...

My N40 was 24/7 for just under 2 years and then gave up. We tried a new PSU, RAM and everything - but had to throw it away. When I walked in the door and saw this blinking red light I got upset really quickly ...

Upgrade your firmware. My Gen8 seems to dislike the ram in it, a day HP insisted that my firmware might be the issue...
