Hi,

I've recently finished building a HTPC that will be used/is used for watching movies and series obviously, and also for some casual gaming and apps and so on.
It's got a Asus M4A88TD-M m-board in, that has a onboard Radeon HD4250. It's fine for watching movies and so on, but it's a little bit slow for games, and it's also got a problem where when the resolution changes or I switch the tv on/off, it shows a bunch of coloured lines across the screen and only gets fixed by unplugging the HDMI or switching the tv off and on again. I've tried updating the drivers and playing around with settings but nothing worked, so ive decided to just get a new graphics card.

I've been looking at the GeForce GTX550 or the or the Radeon HD5770.
Now, the other problem i have is that the PC only has a 380W antec earthwatt power supply, and from what I can see the cards require 400W and 450W.

So, do I buy another power supply (not really what i want to do though), or will 380W be ok for at least the GTX (400W), or do i try and get a card that has lower power supply requirements ?

I went for a GT520 for my MediaCenter TV Setup thingy.
The best part of it is that it is Cheap and supports the work-around for the strange 23.97 frame-rate tearing problem you get on most other cards.

Like R500-R600 rand cheap, plus it is powered by the PCIe bus, is uber low powered so a cheap 380W power supply is more than enough
