According to what I read on this forum, IS is not delivering what they've promised, "forumites" are constantly complaining about the speeds, no connectivity, etc, etc

What bothers me the most here, is the fact that some more ISPs are offering IS accounts now more then before, (WebAfrica for instance, is now offering IS accounts) another example, OpenWeb will not offer SAIX accounts as from 1st April 2006.

2 great ISPs, OpenWeb and WebAfrica, are going to be the talk on this forum in the next few months?

Some people are ecstatic with IS, some aren't.. kinda like iBurst and MyWireless a few years ago.

Haven't tested an IS account as yet, perhaps it's time to see what the commotion is about :)

Yeah, please paste some pings to local game servers.

HellTel, you've taken the words out of my mouth! I'm about to sign up for ADSL and was eager to sign up with OpenWeb but now IS seems to be getting a lot of bad press. So now I don't know. SAIX or IS? Which way do I go?

Which way do you go? I wish I could answer that question but, I can't.

As a consumer I can honestly say that ISPs should STOP offering IS accounts for now, after all, there is another option.

I saw I write up in one of the ISPs sites, that stated that, due to the unstable IS, they would not be offering IS accounts to new subscribers, until the problem was resolved. That is what we, consumers, want from ISPs.

Im happy with IS. Got my IS account in november and i always get great speeds except during the day but I dont care about that cos im not at home anyway and also the gaming I get normal adsl ping on saix cs servers

What is normal ping?

Do you only play local?

It's during the day that most businesses perform their business. :p

On saix I have between 15-25ms on local servers and on international its always more than 300ms due to port shaping, so iternational servers are unplayable even on saix. I'm considering a IS acount due to the fact that it has a 30gb local cap (more gaming for me).

Why Is so so great

I guess y i love my ISADSL is 30gigs of awesome downloading off news.is.co.za which i can find probably more things on than any torrent site. And i get max out speeds 24/7 off it!

Absolutely. Got the Openweb 192 IS proxy account yesterday and the IS newsgroups rock. Aside from about an hour when IS was down today I'm extremely pleased.

i am in the ecstatic camp. Have been with IS since jan and have had almost no probs with them. Apparently international is quite often down/a problem but i cannot really comment as my 3 gig international usually only last me about 24 hours...

So i would recommend going with IS based solely on my experieces with them.
