I came to the realisation i am entirely frigging lost and require some advice from those 'in the know'
Decided to buy a laptop to get away from my desktop and do some writing, photo and video editing, easy decision.
Decided on an i5 with minimum 4 g ram and seperate graphics card , pretty easy so far.
Chose "gaming" as a parameter for the slightly extra power, however gaming is not my focus.
However i then made the mistake of reading too many reviews about various brands, service, malware, issues, resolution etc etc, have now pushed my brain to the limit and foresee a blue screen of death system error meltdown is on the cards.
So far have the following idea/s :
15" screen i5 minimum 4g(upgradable) seperate graphics should be easy enough to run Photoshop Elements and Pinnacle Studio.
Budgeting at R10K or less.
I simply want to walk in, pay for it and walk out the door.
So far what i have seen:
Computer mania comfortably with budget all res: 1366x768, so basically a battle of the brands.
Products to Clear:
Toshiba Satelite L50-B905 Intel i5 4210U 1.7ghz 6GB RAM -R8499
Toshiba Satelite L50-Intel i5 4210M up to2.7ghz 8G RAM- R8499
Dell Inspiron 3542 Intel i5 4210U up to 2.7ghz 4G RAM- R8499
ASUS A555LB XX224H Intel i5 5200 up to 2.7ghz 4G RAM- R8899
New:
Dell Inspiron 3543 Intel i5 5200U up to 2.7ghz 8G RAM- R8999
Toshiba C55-C1887 i5-5200U 6G RAM -R8999
Lenovo g5080 i7 -R9999 -Extreme limit of budget, but it is an i7
Incredible connection
Horribly over budget but with res 1920x1080, so would require a fair amount of justification such as lifespan, reliability, build quality, service ease etc.
ASUS FX550 i5 4200h 8g ram 1 tb hd GTX950 graphics - R11999
Questions :
What are the cpu designations generation wise ? and what do they mean by "up to"
Resolution: do i go with 1366x768, will it be sufficent or push for the 1920x1080 ? Admittedly I am afraid of laying out that sort of money for a lemon.
Products to clear - should i stay away ?
Brands to avoid ? or is that really just subjective ?
Suggestions , tips, clues, advice and intelligent input would be appreciated.
