And I suppose nothing will be done to the "traffic cop" who issued the ticket...

Slowly does it... Not!

Hendrina - Slowly doesn't do it any more for some - especially in the town of Hendrina, where a motorist has been fined R100 for doing 53km/h in a 60km/h zone.
The speeding ticket was issued to Peet Ludeke, cousin of Blue Bulls' coach Frans Ludeke, when he was pulled off the town's main street by a local traffic cop.
Peet, who works for Barry Leach of Leach Engineering in Rosslyn, Pretoria, was on his way to Ermelo with a full load of steel on a 30-year-old lorry, on Thursday two weeks ago.
In Church Street, the town's main street, the long arm of the law pounced, and he was given a speeding ticket.
Only when Peet examined the ticket did he realise he was being fined R100 for doing 53km/h in a 60km/h zone.
His explanation to the traffic cop that this couldn't be right, fell on deaf ears.
"I know my little seven-ton lorry. It's not capable of high speeds. Never mind with a load of steel on the back," Peet muttered when Beeld asked him about the ticket.
Fine definitely wrong - traffic cop
"The only way my white steed is ever going to pick up speed is on a steep downhill, with the wind behind it and a large helping of good luck!
"But to be fined for going too slowly is just silly."
His enquiries to Steve Tshwete municipality at Middelburg (which has jurisdiction over Hendrina) were not answered.
Girly Sibanyoni of the town's traffic department said the fine would have to be defended in court.
"No," said acting traffic chief Andrew Monareng, "the traffic fine's clearly wrong.
"We'll definitely withdraw the charge if the ticket's sent to us."
