Well, not sure if it's a netgear problem or not. The problem i have is that whenever there is lightning or thunder around my internet connection keeps dropping. It will stay up for a few minutes and then drop again. Then as soon as the weather clears, everything is as right as rain (no pun intended!!
). I've got a netgear dg834g router, but am not using the wireless.
I've been on the phone to telkom and they have tested the line and can't find any problems whatsoever. I was even on the phone to the techie when the line went down once and he said that he did notice a slight change in the attenuation/ noise margain (can't remember which, maybe both). But that they are both still well within range.
Part of the reason i think it's the router at fault, is that whenever the adsl line drops, the whole router resets, which kills all communication between all the computers on the network (obviously).
I'm battling to get hold of duxbury tech support so i can't ask them anything. I've heard from one other person who's got the same router and he said that he's had the same problem but all the time... not only just during bad weather. He downgraded his firmware which fixed the problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions or similar problems??
Thanks!!!
