Yes you read right. :D Nokia will be adding RAW support to their Camera's on the NL1020 and NL 1520's.

This is super awesome news and now I want a 1020 even more! My 920 has got an awesome camera and people are always stunned by the image quality it delivers, but have RAW support on a phone, is just mindless.

Now to petition Nokia to add this to the NL920 also!

Do yourself a favour and have a look at the sample images. Just amazing!

Great.

But, hold on.

Lets take a step back a bit.

Lumia's 1020, 1320, 1520 and 2520 will all have Nokia cam the new integrated super camera software app right?

Will Nokia cam be available for all other Lumia WP8's too with the update that is rolling out or via WP Store?

Nokia Camera is already available for the Lumia 92x range and 1020. RAW support hasn't been confirmed for the 92x range.

Nokia Camera will be available to all WP8 Lumias once Lumia Black has been released.

*yawn*

more gimmickry... curved phones, now this... what will be next? A phone that charges itself using free energy?

Cool.

I've just received my Lumia 625.

Works like a charm. It came with Amber. So, I am waiting for GDR3 now (BitterSweetShimmer?). I can only guess why Nokia is calling it that. It is bye bye.

Really looking forward to the improvements it comes with.

BitterSweetShimmer was the internal working name, it's been renamed Black

I see a trend here, Symbian updates were Anna, Bella, Carla, Donna (A,B,C,D)

Lumia so far has been Amber, Black (A,B)

Next up 8.1 aka Windows Blue, Blue=Cyan (C)

Also GDR3 is separate from the Black update, GDR = OS updates, Black = Firmware update.

Can't we petition for a OS with more and better apps please! I'm not saying Android i'm just saying its frustrating that a person wants a Nokia but also want all the apps and tweaks you love.

So what apps would you like then?

The chances of you getting the Google apps are currently less than 0, with Google trying to play hardball with Microsoft in the mobile space. The FNB app was released yesterday so there's a positive for you.

EDIT: In addition, alot of these apps have alternatives on WP, some are unofficial apps like 6Tag, Instance for Instagram (the official app is coming soon).

Others like Play Music have WP alternatives in XBox Music and Nokia Music - seeing that Play Music is pretty much an Android specific app.

As for Office, WP comes with MS Office as part of the OS, what more could you want?

Stop being ignorant about what is and isn't available on WP.

Official Google apps won't be coming to WP any time soon as Google are being asses about it, but there are many great alternatives that work great and some even better than the official apps.

*yawn* all I want to do is to make phone call..

You might have convinced me to finally import that Win8 RT tab that i've wanted for a while now. RT because they are so much cheaper and i've been holding off because I had an Android Tab(with all the apps)
One last one VLC or similar?

RT is separate from WP

I have a RT tab as well, most of those apps or alternatives are available for RT, if you have a Win 8 PC check the store, if it's on there it's on RT. RT ships with full Office 2013 as well, including Outlook in 8.1. Plus you have desktop IE 11

VLC for Win8 RT is almost finished, the beta plays anything the desktop app will except there's no audio as they still use symbols in the audio code that's not allowed on RT. Shouldn't be long until they release it.

If you're looking for a RT tab you might want to hold out for this: http://www.nokia.com/global/products/tablet/lumia2520/

The Office on RT is it completely full office including Macros etc?
