Another odd question - Router issues

Hi Guys, please help if you can. My Telkom line gave issues, sorted now after replacing all the cabling. Issue we have now, as soon as I connect a 2nd PC with Lan cable, the router drops and line speed is dead with Pings over 1500. If I unplug the cable, restart the router, ping is back to 23ms and speed normal.

I have tried multiple cables to the 2nd PC, no difference.

Ideas?

Did a lightning strike damage the telkom line? If so it might have caused damage to the router too.

Unplug all the cables to the router then smell inside the LAN ports of the router, if it smells burnt then its damaged.

Nope, tried two different routers, same result. Maybe the LAN card on the 2nd PC is damaged.

Yea, sounds like its causing a broadcast storm.
