Another PSU question

Excellent.

If the TX650V2 isn't much more then it's the better choice as it has a 5yr warranty vs 3yr.

The Corsair GS 700 is actually cheaper than a TX 650.

I would rate the GS 700 a lesser product that the TX 650 but by no means is the GS 700 a bad power supply.

I would personally go with a TX 650 instead cause of the 5 year warranty.

It's a re-branded Channel Well. Of the two OEMs that Corsair Uses, I would recommend the Seasonic made PSUs instead.
Get the 750W OEM Seasonic version rather. Better made thing and a bit cheaper and 50W more output.

A guide for the uninformed.

CWT make many higher-end PSUs for many brands. While I agree that Seasonic may have a better name, there is nothing wrong with CWT.

Also, what's the warranty on the Seasonic linked?

It's a 3 year on this specific range (low-end) of Seasonic.

and on the matter of personal choice, I choose Seasonic because I've always preferred them over others even from 20 years ago when I first began building PCs and there were only like three makers of PSU. Seasonic and two others that have since disappeared.

Seasonic knows what they're doing and it shows in that they have good quantifiable test data available for download.
Plus their supplies in review tests do regularly have the lowest output ripples and highest efficiency with the lowest temperatures too. Now absolute power output is meaningless if the DC signal has significant ripple. Which is especially taxing on VRMs and regulators. Ripple is the metric to watch aside from overall efficiency as it's ripple that prematurely ends logic circuits by injecting spurious transients into the DC supply.

True there's nothing much wrong with Channel Well really but then there's even less wrong with SeaSonic aside from their products lacking bling but Seasonic is aimed at the discerning engineer who wouldn't care what the PSU LOOKS like, since electrons have affinity not vanity.

What is their local RMA like?

A very good question.... I've not yet had one go faulty and had to return one to find out actually...
Hard to answer objectively since I chose Seasonic for this very reason.

OK to somewhat provide details: I do know that there's a dedicated importer who's really stepped up and is offering a good range of them and they claim to have stock on hand and will honour the warranty with a swap. That's the good news.

The other news is that the importer is apparently CyberDyne or at least it seems to be they're the only ones locally bringing them in. Now I've had some good and some really bad experiences with them when they first started out circa 1997. Hopefully by now they've ironed out all their niggles and won't give too many hassles with RMA. But 'caveat emptor'.

Thanks guys.

I am helping my brother to get the GS700, I needed his current psu, (my old one) for another project which is due tomorrow.
