Another regular hijacking. Or is it?

No, Fudzy. Just pointing out facts. Prove me wrong!

What facts? That the photo is topical because the guys are white? Well done! You've worked out how biased the media is. On the flipside though, white victims get A LOT more media attention.

IF you can't beat them join them :D :D //

Nothing strange. They probably stole and sold all the relatives cars they could .. next step High Jack.

There was that lady in her red car on the off ramps a few years ago, she would fake a broken down car and her boyfriend would jump from the bushes and high Jack your car.

( good on the police for catching them Two less to worry about )

Makes me angry cause I sometimes help hitchikers. :o. I know stupid. I ussualy pick up women with babies but have picked up kids and men as well

I never pick up women with babies. Firstly they shouldn't be in a bar at that time of night if they are proper mothers and secondly I will not raise another mans child.

Picking up kids and men...haven't been in a bar that caters for that...Amsterdam maybe?

Well you disregard that it could be the same crims on the fact there wasn't a photo shown.

Not because there wasn't a photo shown...but because the article you posted uses the conventional blanket means to describe the crime as typically colourless. You know, "the men"..."the suspect"..."the perpetrator"...

On the other hand, an article like this one takes a slightly different approach and my hunch is that if they'd had photos they would've been emblazoned across it.

The suspects in my story are still at large while the ones you had posted were caught and were linked to racist groups IIRC (Suidlanders rings a bell).

If the colour of the person's skin is relevant to the story then it should be included, otherwise just leave it out.

Follow up to your story:

EDIT: Wasn't suidlanders, it was BANC though I wouldn't be surprised if they are linked.

True. However the wife survived and surely could provide the most basic description of them and yet it is clearly omitted?

With regard to this point of discussion their affiliations are irrelevant. What apparently is relevant, according to the article I linked, is the colour of their skin.

Well I agree. In fact, when it comes down to crime stories, either make it all transparent or don't. But apply this universally. No double standards. That is my entire point.

If the story in the OP had not included a picture we would all be wondering why on earth this had even made the news and let's be honest, that's precisely why it made the news.

Interesting. Gotta love the comments there. You'd think they'd tortured a family to death rather than having defaced a sign.

ANY CRIMINALS need the full brunt of the law - hopefully swift and too the hilt.

Yeah, quite sad really.
