Hi everybody!

Father considering getting Solar since genny is getting pricey to run. Was looking at a 8KW Inverter + 8.7KW battery.

He doesn’t need anything fancy like Deye etc. Ao was considering LuxPower and Felicity Solar 8.7kwh Li-Ion Battery.

Anyone used this type of setup?

Forum full of Deye etc setups and looking for something simple, that won’t need a lot of tinkering. Blending yes if possible.

Thoughts?

Luxpower SNA5000 is an axpert killer. Nothing wrong with it, at 13K it is great value for money. Stock seems to be very low at the moment though.

Leaning towards this but as you've mentioned stock is low for most inverters and panels.

Will try see if any installers are comfortable with this setup

Yeah, i've been looking for an SNA5000 since late Jan. No1 had/has stock.
Some stock came into the country last week or so, but all were taken up by installers on back order.
Decided to bite the bullet and spend the extra R6k on a Luxpower LXP 5000 instead.
Was not my intention to get a hybrid. But i guess it was the universe's way of telling me to go for the LXP instead.
LXP is on the City of Cape Towns Approved inverters for feedback to grid. But it also has several features over and above the SNA5000. So happy with the purchase.
Installation should be happening next week.

How much did you pay for the LXP? 8 March 2023 i paid 13k for the SNA also situated in Cape Town.

Im struggling to get a 5kw battery. The Volta, Dyness and Shoto all out of stock in cape town, or the places i looked atleast. I can get Felicity Solar 5.12kw LPBA, but cant find reviews of it anywhere or that it can even communicate with the Lux SNA

Yisso, R13k for the SNA is a good price. Where'd you find it? (not that it matters now)
I paid R21900 for the LXP.

Try Voltex, Solar Sonic or ACDC. Oh and don't email them, call them.

Solar Solved in Milnerton. They didn't seem to have a stock issue.

Cool good luck. The lady (Carmen) there was very helpful with me, Same day I called, I actually bought it.
or try Myles 083 780 2708 (also Solar Sonic).

At Voltex I dealt with the Lansdowne branch, lady named Charlene (just a FYI).

Have you guys installed your units yet? I got a SNA500 but struggling with setup to get it to charge the battery

Yip, but had mine installed by a qualified installer.
So he did all the setup goetes. Then told me to download the app and logged me in.
In a week i've Only had one small issue so far, which has been resolved.
Sorry, meant to add, what battery is it? Most battery suppliers have the required settings on their websites.
Hubble has it per battery per inverter.

I am running a Hubble battery AM-2 with the SNA.
Checked their website and all the setting recommendations, got the BMS cable and alles.

You ironically mentioned Hubble, I suspect you have one installed with yours aswell. Is it possible you could snapshot your settings, I feel it is just something small that I am missing. I will be eternally grateful

I have a Hubble AM-5 on a Lux LXP, so the settings would be quite different.
There is a Luxpower DIY Support whatsapp group (the link was on Luxpowertek SA owners support FB page) , one Maybe ask there?

Just installed this system, but without solar panels for now.

Seems to work fine, but there is very little documentation available for this combination - neither LuxPower nor Felicity Solar have much info.

Got it working through brute force and consulting forums on Facebook.
