Ok I might have mentioned this before but here goes again if I did...
There are local torrent trackers like Ninja Central, Bitfarm and Greenlabs right.
What happened is that all of these have become closed and what seem to many to be elitest communities, and everyone else is left begging for invites. So that pretty much rules out these trackers for most of us.
Then the second problem is the amount of heat that gets put on these local trackers, which is what probably led them to an invite only system in the first place.
If someone tries to setup a local tracker they can expect problems etc from copyright pirate busters etc etc.
So why not set up a local south african tracker hosted overseas. Then you will need to use international bandwidth to get access to the torrent files, then you can use local to do all the downloading.
With cheap prepaid internet that doesnt expire, TI users could wait till they have reached their cap then use the prepaid account to quickly connect and update the tracker or download torrents etc etc.
If anyone wanted to shut it down from here, it would be much harder, especially if its hosted where other trackers are that get away with existing.
There need not be elitism at all since the main rule will be to keep your ratio above a certain amount. Simple rule because with just leechers there won't be any content.
Unfortunately those who don't have any international at all won't be able to access the tracker. Surely buying a prepaid voucher just for this purpose isnt too much of a problem
