Another way to test speed

Go to www.mnetondemand.com

I tried to sample some of it (hey, I have ADSL and it says
it requires a 250kbps connection). Pity mine only tested
at 150kbps....

Good for another laugh about Telkom's ADSL offering
 
Sorry, but the requested service requires you to have an Internet connection with at least 250 kbit/sec to provide a good media experience.
Available: 180 kbit/sec. Required: 250 kbit/sec.

Did a traceroute - goes all the way to the US.

Who in SA is supposed to meet the requirements? Does MNet offer something I don't know about?

Yeah, I'm sure there's tons of people out there in the big wide world who want to watch Egoli or Big Brother Africa - can this be economically viable? I wonder. I mean, even South Africans emigrants would need to be seriously homesick to want to watch this stuff over the Internet.
