Antec Tp-750 OR HCP-850?

So I have narrowed my choice down to these 2 PSU, now which one to get is the question.

I just bought another 5850 to crossfire so my current Thermaltake 500W aint going to cut it.

There is obviously a price difference of +- R500 bettween the TP and the HCP.

Would it be wiser to go with the 850 over the 750? Is it worth the extra money?

I had the TP-750 and now have the HCP-850.

The TP-750 is an excellent PSU and will run your two 5850s without any issues, I ran 3x4870s and an OCd i7 920 with my one.

I say save the R500 and get the 750w.

850W would be overkill. Your PC would probably draw about 500W with that CrossFire configuration.

One of the few reasons I usually suggest more than 650W PSU's for SLI/CrossFire is just due to the smaller ones not having enough graphics card power connectors.

If you can afford the HCP, get it. Good PSU with Gold 80+ certification. Equivalent to Corsair AX range.

If you want the cost effective route get the TP.

Personally I would go Corsair AX750 - about R100 more than the HCP 850 with 2 years extra warranty...

Thanks postman. So you reckon the extra R500 is worth it? I guess it will future proof me if anything.

I would go corsair but my supplier doesn't stock them and I plan on getting it today.
