I am looking to connect my Huawei E272 mobile connect USB modem to an external antenna. Under the label on the bottom of the unit are two connections. Can anyone tell me which of these is the right one for an antenna and what connector would I require. I saw on another forum that it maybe a Hirose MS-162? but I am not sure. Can anybody please help on this question .

I think ginggs will be able to to tell you. He is the E272 expert 
I don't know what the antenna connector is, but what you really want is the E272 Cradle.
I'm sure the Poynting guys can help if you still want to know about the antenna connector.

I can confirm that the cradle works great. I used the one on an E272 as well as a Novatel MC950D.
I still have it in the cupboard just in case, but now work mainly on a Huawei B970 router connected to my external antenna. This is a great combo for a LAN and Wireless connections.
I have since disposed of my E272 and kept the MC950D.
