Anthony Laing joins XON from Juniper where he worked on Juniper projects as a consulting engineer for over three years. During his time at Juniper and previously with Juniper partners and customers, Laing worked on many of Europe’s biggest services provider networks. He was involved in a number of pioneering projects making broadband and triple-play services a reality. In the UK he was involved with the first major local-loop unbundling effort by a company called Bulldog that was later acquired by Cable and Wireless. The network was based on Juniper equipment and provided cost-effective Internet, voice and video services with access speeds of up to 20mbps.
In early 2000, Laing was involved in the London Grid For Learning, a collaboration of the 33 London local authorities to provide broadband connectivity, managed services and online content serving 2 600 high schools, 65 000 teachers and a million pupils over 1 600 square kilometres.
